My 2014 planner...Really?....Me?

Recently, I watched videos about yearly planners. It is that time of year! I watched how others organized their planners. How they used them. How they decorated them. Some of the organizers were very colorful, filled with stickers and filled with the schedules of peoples busy lives.
I was thinking this might actually help me with my organizational skills. I have previously posted about my lack of organizational skills. So my interest was piqued and I went shopping at Staples to find a planner that would suit my needs. I felt it would be best if I started smaller, because I am worried about, February, I will just stop using the planner. Because that has happened to me before. However, this time around I am excited about my planner, because I have decorated the planner to fit my needs and not the other way around.
Here is a picture of the planner I chose. Of course I chose the planner with pictures of birds on the cover:

When you open the planner here is a picture of the first page:

After watching the videos, I got out my scrapbooking accessories and worked away.
I found an old embossed stamped picture and glued it to the cover.

I changed the front page to display my most important goal for the year of 2014:

On the back of this page I posted a couple of my goals for the entire year. I will add more later. I am calling them, goals, not resolutions because I don't feel I have ever been able to keep a resolution. So maybe, goals, is a more appropriate word for me We'll see!

I have more that I want to add to my planner. I need to buy colored pens because I discovered that the colored markers bled onto other pages. Many people decorated their pages with Washi tape, I so neeeeeed some of that. I have added some Post Its with menu planning and other small things that I need to remember. So far I am excited about this new endeavor. In the past when I had a small yearly planner, I said, "What do I do with this." and threw it in the drawer. This year with the personalization and understanding how to organize the planner, I'm hoping this is going to be the year I get my planning on.

My fingers are crossed.

Everyone, thank you for reading
Happy New Year!
